James R Love, PhD, MBA
Dr Love is a biotechnologist with twenty years of
research and nine years of business experience
- currently as the Managing Director for a start
up in Scotland.
With a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and many years in research (including work in oncology, genetics, immunology, transgenics and virology) Jamie has the background needed to understand the technology and the needs of Life Science companies and their customers. Prior to returning to Scotland, he was responsible for corporate and business development at three biotech start-ups in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he was also solely solely responsible for all intellectual property and licensing. Dr Love conducted prior art searches and provided written opinions, for novelty and inventiveness, on PCT applications to the US Patent & Trade Office and studied to become a registered Patent Agent (with the US Patent Office). Jamie is also an adjunct associate professor at the University of Maryland University College, where he has been teaching an on line course, "Selection and Evaluation of Biotechnology Projects", since 2001.
