Janette has been project manager of pharmaceutical R & D programs and has managed large international development projects for “large pharma”, and managed “virtual” development teams for small organisations.
Projects have been in development phases from pre-clinical through to life-cycle management. She has biotechnology business experience in reviewing and implementing innovative technology to identify commercial potential for investors, licensing new technology for start up biotechnology companies, developing strategies to optimise value, writing major grant applications, and producing the plans and budgets for development to market. She has conducted post doctoral research at the University of Cambridge and at Glaxo as a protein biochemist, where she led research groups and, later, drug development projects in a wide range of therapeutic areas including Oncology, Inflammation, Neurology, Cardiovascular, Inflammatory Bowel and Infectious Diseases (particularly malaria). Projects have included early stage research projects such as developing human cell models for oncology research and diagnostic standards, drugs in candidate selection, phase I and II, orphan drugs and life cycle management projects.
